| I am VERY secure in my pseudo-masculinity |

Oh wow. First, thanks to whoever posted the clips of Cosmos' Excalibur on YouTube, because it has made me discover something about Takarazuka that actually literally makes me squee out loud. Takarazuka often induces squee-age in me, but I mostly at least TRY to put on a cool exterior so the squee-age is often internal.
I apparently have a HUGE soft-spot for musumeyaku dressed as little boys. I never thought I'd call Hanafusa Mari cute, elegant and pretty is more her style, but she is ADORABLE as little Rosa- er, Ronaldo! It made me shout "Aww... she's so CUTE!". Complete with the painfully high-pitched entirely unmasculine squealing that totally breaks my tomboy otokoyaku-wannabe image.
Well, there's another show to add onto my ever-growing "to buy" list. |

:-D There's also O-Hana dressed in male clothing as Joan of Arc in Pierre the Mercenary, and wearing a military uniform as Catherine the Great in Nostalgia Across the Sea. ^___^ I also LOVE seeing musumeyaku dressed as boys. I spotted my baby ( Hanakage Arisu) as a young boy in Never Say Goodbye and just about died on the spot. *___*
And don't forget O-Hana and Akiko sang Ai areba koso costumed as Oscar and Andre in TCA 2002 Love. :) I think I may have to make an icon of that one day.
Ah, I've heard of O-Hana's Oscar, but I haven't seen it! D: You should definitely make an icon. ^__^
And the list goes ever on and on...
i also enjoyed it so much watching mari playing the little page - and her face-expressions are so cute when she seemed to understand nothing james wanted to know from her ... and then her "little" lies about the princess (really she is) i think -- in this moment i would be so happy if only i could understand japanese!!! i will get the dvd in december - i am looking forward to watch the hole story ...
I was seriously dead of squee from her first "Ata- Boku wa..." whatever the rest of that was that she said (I too wish I could really understand Japanese!). I just seriously want to cuddle her and tell her how completely adorably awkward she is.
Yay for getting the DVD! You'll have to let us know how that goes!
If you think that's an embarrassing level of squee, wait till you get the Daiundokai. It is impossible to watch without jumping up and down, screaming, squealing, cheering, waving frantically whenever you see anyone you recognise, and feeling an overpowering urge to craft a flag in the colour of your favourite troupe.
Oh, I'm looking forward to it! | |
